INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

Santa Eulalia, Guatemala Stove Project

This is a joint project with People for Guatemala, a US registered 501c3. The Rotary Club of Estero has contributed $2,500 US to support this project.

Most of the poor, indigenous population in this area use open unventilated wood-burning fire pits. The resulting thick smoke and unprotected fires lead to high rates of disease and injury. This project will supply vented, fuel-efficient stoves that will help maintain cleaner air, reducing disease and injury. These stoves use 75% less firewood which allows more time for boys to attend school and fathers to grow and sell crops. Click here to learn more »
